8/30/2009 - Portage Co. Dems Annual Summer Picnic

Pfiffner Park, Stevens Point.Join the Portage County Democratic Party for their annual summer picnic on Sunday, August 30 at Pfiffner Park, located near downtown Stevens Point on the Wisconsin River. The party will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. consisting of local summer foods, including brats, potato salad, sweet corn, and, of course, beer. Music will be provided by critically acclaimed singer-songwriter L.J. Booth. Stop by the "Big Tent" for a strawberry shortcake dessert while you check out information about the Democratic Party and its affiliated organizations. We will also feature a silent auction, raffles, bake sales, and other opportunities to help raise money to keep Portage County one of the largest, liveliest county parties in the state. The Spring Fling is always a fun event.  It’s a memorable evening of progressive political camaraderie, yummy food, great music and an exciting guest speaker.  There’s also a 50-50 raffle, silent and live auctions and a full service bar.  Cost of the Spring Fling is $25/person.  Buy one for yourself and family members, co-workers or neighbors.  Consider purchasing “scholarship” tickets that we can provide to those who are unemployed or on a limited income.  “Best seats in the house” tickets are $50 and you dine at the head table with the Lt.
