The GOP is staging a super-rally of 1% politicians on Saturday, January 21 in Wauwatosa. Information is here; http://www.walkerstandswithus.com/

By popular demand, We Are Milwaukee has organized a counter-rally protest by the 99%.

We are gathering at noon for a protest picket line and rally of our own. The GOP rally will be at the Rotary Pavilion in Hart Park (70th and State St). We will gather outside of the park for a picket line, and when the 1%’ers start their rally, we’ll have one of our own at the park.

Here’s a Facebook event page for our action: http://www.facebook.com/events/278652425529011/

We will stress the message that: (1) Walker stands for and stands with the 1%; (2) Those of us standing against 1% Walker stand for the 99%.

They said it couldn’t be done, but we did it.

With more than one million signatures on petitions to recall Scott Walker, Wisconsinites sent a message to the nation and the world that Walker’s Tea Party ways are not our ways.

The Tosa recall office processed 4,794 signatures to recall Gov. Walker, and 4,466 for Lt. Gov. Kleefisch. That’s how many were brought in by volunteers, checked over, and then turned in to the Democratic recall office in West Allis.

“Walker might have the money but there’s no doubt that we have the boots on the ground. What a tremendous grassroots effort across the state,” said Joanne Shansky, who coordinated the Tosa recall office.

With the recall election months off, it’s time to turn our attention to the local races. More on that soon.

Thanks for all your hard work on the recall!

We've got to help our fellow progressives get on record in opposition to Scott Walker's radical assault on teachers, children, workers, and voters. [...]

Folks, we’re making history. Last week, about 30 of your fellow Tosans collected nearly 600 signatures.

That’s about 20 signatures per circulator. Now, imagine if we had a hundred circulators: That’s 2,000 We could have collected

Every circulator will tell you that many of the people signing have said “I’m glad I found you; I didn’t know where to sign.”

We’ve got to help our fellow progressives get on record in opposition to Scott Walker’s radical assault on teachers, children, workers, and voters.

Statewide, more than 300,000 signatures have been collected. That is terrific progress. But here in Milwaukee County, we’ve collected only about 70,000. We can and must make sure that our city and county are well-represented in this historic movement to restore sensible government to a state that’s so often been the leader in progressive government.

Your help is needed!
